Glide Twist swaps the usual score chase for a calm free-play mode. The structured mode unlocks after ten clears and is timed per board. The split between free play and structured is the smartest design decision in the whole title, because the two modes train different skills.
Free play teaches the mechanics. Structured play tests them. By the time you have ten clears in free play, the structured mode reads as a different game with familiar rules. Most arcade-style releases blur this line; here the line is sharp and the game benefits from it.
I played both modes across three sessions, two evenings and a longer Saturday afternoon. The structured mode rewards repeat play; the timer on each board drops with familiarity. Sessions ran around twenty to forty minutes each.
The weak spot is the tutorial. Free play is meant to teach but the in-game prompts are minimal, and a new player can miss the centre-bonus mechanic for the first three boards. A short pop-up on first clear would solve this. Two-and-a-half stars overall; the structure works but the on-ramp needs help.
