Editor review
Glide Grid Rush is a sliding-token arcade where each move sends the token until it hits a wall. Plan slide sequences to reach the goal. Forty-eight levels across four grid themes.
What works is the slide-physics. The token moves at a fixed speed; players can read distance and plan sequences. The format becomes about pre-planning the move sequence rather than reactive play.
Forty-eight levels with progressive wall complexity. Late levels have tight corridors that require precise direction sequences.
Tested over a Wellington cable-car commute week plus a few Lambton Quay cafe sessions. Touch swipe is the natural input. Keyboard arrow keys also work.
Where the design earns its rating is the move-count scoring. Levels can be solved many ways; the optimal solution uses fewest moves. Players who optimise routes score higher.
Where I would push back is the absence of an undo. Frictionless slides are unforgiving; a single bad move requires restart. An undo button would have respected experimentation.
Four stars. Solid slide-puzzle arcade with disciplined level design. Limited by no-undo policy.
